Posting a job, getting bids and comparing pros is free — a small service fee applies when you book, covering escrow payment protection. You see the total before you confirm.
How fast do bids arrive?
In our busiest metros the first bid typically lands in about 10 minutes, and most jobs collect 3 bids. Timing varies by trade and market.
Will contractors get my phone number?
No. Your contact details stay hidden while pros bid. You talk through the app, and you decide which pro gets to work with you.
When do I actually pay?
You fund escrow when you book, before work starts. The pro is paid only after you review the completion photos and approve the finished work.
What if the work isn’t finished or isn’t right?
Don’t approve the invoice. Talk it through with the pro in the app first; if it isn’t resolved, contact AllBetter support and we’ll help sort it out. Payment doesn’t release until you approve.
Can I start on the web instead of the app?
Yes. Create your HomeFix account and post a job on the web, or use the HomeFix app for iPhone or Android. Your account works in both.
Are the pros verified?
Every pro completes identity verification (a government ID and personal details through Stripe) before they can be paid. Need license or insurance details for a specific job? Ask in the in-app chat; pros can share documents before you hire.
